Two Princes by ZtheSOI Two Princes by ZtheSOI
When the Man in Moon met the Little Prince, he immediately recognised the boy was a child that was about to grow up.
When the Little Prince met the Man in Moon, he thought the man was a bit different than those grown-ups he met on other asteroids.
The two had a very casual, but nonetheless philosophical conversation.

I wonder where I got the idea.

First off, I'm not familiar with the characters so pardon any mistakes I make and feel free to correct me ^^; Anyway, this is real nice picture. Simple but clean and smooth.
You have very smooth lineart here and very nice colors! It's very pleasant to look at. The characters also have very nice expressions. ^^
However, the figure of the boy could be cleaned up a bit as his shoes are a bit too big for his legs and where his hand comes out of his sleeve I can only see a very thin wrist that's almost nonexistent. It's like he's a bit too thin. You did the boy's hair and scarf very well but I think a bit of his shading could be cleaned up a bit. Like parts of his cloak and legs.
Anyway, you did really well on the old man and I especially like his moon staff. So cool! A bit of his shading could use a little work too. Like around his hands and where his coat parts.
Just ya know, more shading so certain parts of the picture won't seems so flat. The style you got here is very cute though and this picture itself seems to tell a story and/or convey a messege. :)
I like it how the characters have a faint shadow on the floor but somehow I fell that the shadow is a bit too thin and maybe not quite dark enough.
Also, the background is rather plain. Since the main focus is on the characters, a really detailed background isn't needed but I fell that a slightly more complex background would give this piece more depth.

Overall, it's a very cute picture! Keep up the good work and I hope I wasn't being to critical. Have a good day/night and keep drawing!

Hello from :iconprojectcomment: :D

The coloring and art style in this piece is so satisfying and clean. The colors you picked are so nice to the eyes :D I also like the whimsical nature of this piece. Admittedly I haven't read either stories (I know, I'm so uncultured), but it really does convey a sense of whimsy and curiosity through the expressions and gestures of the two characters.

While the flat style certainly fits the theme you're going for, I do feel like the hand on the Man in Moon's palm could use a little shading, since it feels flatter than the rest of his body. Also, it might just be me, but the staff seems a little too 3 dimensional compared to the rest of the drawing. On its own, it looks nice, but when the rest of the drawing contains lineart and flat shading, it feels a little out of place. I think maybe even giving the staff a more defined line might make it fit more with the piece.

Also, backgrounds! I'm not sure if the simple background is supposed to mean anything in regards with the two characters, but I'm gonna assume its not. In general, I find a piece like this would really benefit from a background. It doesn't have to be too detailed, but in a picture like this in which a story is implied, it's nice to have some kind of background to give it some completeness and create a more interesting composition.

Overall, I really like the way you made the characters. Keep up the good work! :D

I remember when I first read the Little prince, and thinking, 'what a strange little kid.' Though that wasn't to say I didn't find him, or any artistic interpretations of him, not fascinating. Like yours, a perfect homage to the original design; conveying innocent wisdom, and a very curious look at the world.
Just like how he's doing up there right now at the Man on the Moon, ha.
On the technical aspect, I'd say you did well! The color schemes don't clash and the background added to your foreground and central piece nicely.
The anatomy isn't bad, and the Moon on the Moon looks realistically chubby.
On the flip side, I do see some errors. Like the latter part of the staff, the lines disappear and it seems that it melts into his coat, as well as the foreshortening on the arm on the staff, it looks a little...wonky. Like the arm really is that short instead of bent towards the camera. I'm sure you'll be able to fix that with a few more practice sessions and references, though.
Also, I'm not sure where the main source of light is?
But overall, you did very well! Nice and simple but eye-catching all the same.
I do hope you'll let us all continue to see more from you.
Good day!
